Safety Release® History

PowerRail & Maestranzi became aware of the need for a safety-conscious jumper cable in 1999.  At the request of some of the major railroads, Maestranzi began to design a jumper cable that would be safer and more ergonomically-friendly than the standard jumper cable.  After three years of research and design-testing, Maestranzi put the Safety Release® Jumper Cable into production.  It is now used by some of the most safety conscious Class One Railroads in the world

In comparison to the standard jumper cable, the Safety Release®  jumper cable is easier to use and much safer to remove from a locomotive.

The Safety Release®  handle allows you to maintain control of the jumper cable at all times, reducing the chances of injury. By gently pulling on the Safety Release® handle to release the cable from the receptacle, it is not necessary to yank on the cable, one of the most common ways in which people are injured.

The Safety Release® linkage is made of high-quality stainless steel that has been electro-polished to withstand the hostile environment in which jumper cables are subjected to.  Guaranteed.
