POWERRAIL DISTRIBUTION  -  Duryea, PA

  Position:

  PURCHASING MANAGER (Full-time) 

  Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM

  Job Description:

  The Purchasing Manager reports directly to the VP, Director of Supply Chain. In this role you will be responsible for procuring tooling, goods and services along with managing suppliers. A successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, with focus on improvements to the current purchasing system to improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide oversight to procurement team members, which includes overseeing daily workflow, schedules, and performance
  • Identify and implement cost-saving procurement initiatives
  • Develop vendor contracts and supply agreements with key vendors to align with company commercial terms, while ensuring continuity of product supply 
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

  Qualifications /

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience working in a similar, fast-paced environment with increasing roles of responsibility
  • Minimum five years in a supervisory role 
  • Minimum five years’ experience in procurement or supply chain in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three years’ experience with vendor contract management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of business and management principles
  • Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • CSI – Syteline / Infor ERP experience a plus

  Position:

  DISTRIBUTION CENTER TEAM MEMBER (Full-time and Part-time Positions)

  Hours: Monday - Friday 9AM to 5:30PM  1st Shift = NO Weekends, and NO Mandatory Overtime!

  Job Description:

  Busy warehouse seeks associate for picking/packing and inventory control.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Loads, unloads and transfers merchandise to designated area

  • Stocks merchandise in warehouse to include utilizing equipment and lifting and carrying merchandise to place on shelves

  • Inspects merchandise for deficiencies or breakages

  • Prepares inventory for warehouse stock location

  • Organizes merchandise to prepare for shipment

  • Complete customer's orders in a timely fashion

  Requirements: 

  • Computerized inventory system requires basic computer skills

  • Must be reliable and self-motivated

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and speed

  • Good work ethic and enthusiasm to learn all aspects of the warehouse operation

  • REQUIRED to wear Safety-toe Shoes and full-length pants (no shorts).

  QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR

  Job Description:

  Busy manufacturer and distributor of locomotive parts seeks associate for quality assurance role.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform inspections of finished or incoming products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools

  • Document inspected products or materials in company database

  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment, as needed

  Requirements:
  • Understanding of manufactured drawings and GD&T

  • Strong computer skills

  • Must be reliable, self-motivated and have good work ethic

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and speed

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

AVOCA RAIL PRODUCTS - Duryea, PA

  Position:

  METAL BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR (Full-time)

  Hours:  Monday - Friday 6AM to 2:30PM

  Job Description:

  Avoca Rail Products, a PowerRail company, is seeking a full-time experienced CNC Brake Press Operator for high volume shop. 

  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate numerical control machine to shape or form metal workpieces to specifications
  • Determines setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece
  • Knowledge of interchangeable dies, blueprint reading and proper bending sequences.
  • Inspects finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.

  Job Description:

  Avoca Rail Products, a PowerRail company, is seeking a full-time experienced MIG Welder/Metal Fabricator for high volume shop. 

  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Tack-weld fitted parts together.
  • Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
  • Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
  • Smooth workpiece edges
  Requirements:
  • Must be reliable and self-motivated.
  • Quality and detail focused
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Experience with break press, plasma cutter and industrial saws preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints desirable.

COOPER BEARINGS - Georgetown, DE

  Position:

  PRODUCTION ASSISTANT (Full-time)

  Hours: Monday – Friday 7AM to 3:30PM

  Job Description:

  At Cooper Bearings, production assistants fill a vital role while learning a variety of skills applicable to many manufacturing processes.

  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Break down locomotive wheels into component parts
  • Load parts into automated parts washer
  • Inspect and prepare each component for refurbishing using hand tools, power tools and measurement devices
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Record inspection and maintenance information as directed
  • Assist with keeping Shop safe at all times

  Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a changeable temperature environment
  • You will be trained to operate a forklift and, at times, may have to work outside the building in adverse weather conditions
  • While performing job duties, employees are occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and loud noise.

  At PowerRail Manufacturing, the Production Specialist plays a vital role in the workflow of our day-to-day operations.

  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and verifying core items according to shipping documentation
  • Inspecting incoming products for damage and completes required paperwork
  • Performing data entry of pertinent information in the database for inventory control purposes
  • Disassembling cores and preparing items for cleaning
  • Reconditioning of cores by sandblasting components according to safety procedures
  • Performing quality assurance inspection of each part, noting any damage on appropriate paperwork
  • Monitoring inventory levels and completes requisition for low-stock items
