2023 Customer Service Support Intern

All PowerRail internships are anticipated to run one semester in duration: schedules will be negotiated to the individual student’s needs.  Internships are on-site, unless otherwise noted. Please check with a faculty advisor prior to accepting and beginning the internship experience to determine if academic credit will be received.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately and efficiently enter orders for items to be purchased via website, telephone, fax, and email
  • Clarify and fulfill customer requests/needs by presenting available selections of products and services with appropriate pricing and lead time
  • Understand and respond to customer delivery needs by interfacing with internal personnel
  • Prepare and transmit requests for customer quotes
  • Maintain accurate customer information in database according to company procedures
  • Maintain an updated computerized inventory to include price changes, new and deleted items, descriptions, and other related data
Requirements for this Position:
  • A student who is completing coursework toward an undergraduate degree 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Email
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good work ethic and enthusiasm to learn all aspects of the job
  • Must be reliable and self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Will be residing in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre vicinity for the semester

By the end of your internship, you will have:

  • Gained insight into what it is like to work at an international distributor and heavy industrial manufacturer
  • Worked directly with experienced Sales professionals to gain insight into the internal business side of sales
